Kanye West is making more enemies for himself. This time at New York Fashion Week.
Kanye announced last-minute that he will be putting on a fashion show on September 16 at noon. Unfortunately, designer Anne Bowen was planning to launch her new street collection (Nomad VII by Anne Bowen) right at the same time. Kanye’s announcement has forced the designer to reschedule her debut, thus causing her to express outrage at the rapper and situation.
Bowen explained to WWD on Sunday, “we have been prepping for a year for this at considerable financial, labor and commitment costs to our company. Our show date has been scheduled for months and has been on the Fashion Calendar for weeks. We went through all the proper channels to make this a reality. And just yesterday we learned that Kanye West is having a show at the same time and same date as ours.”
She goes on to explain her upset stating, “Kanye knows he is a media sensation and it is just not ethical to do this. It’s like we are David and he is Goliath. We have put our heart and soul into our show and should not be stepped on like this.”
Bowen’s show will now be on September 17 at 12:30 pm in Tao at 92 Ninth Avenue. She decided to reschedule her show, as she believed her line would have no significance if it was put on at the same time as Kanye’s impromptu show.
Bowen and her team expressed their outrage even further by issuing an official complaint with the CFDA fashion calendar. However, the president of CFDA said Kanye never announced his show on the calendar, and therefore they have no jurisdiction over Yeezus’ last minute show.
Model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne is getting some brutally honest advice from Cinderella actor Richard Madden, following her infamous interview with Good Day Sacramento.
While promoting her movie Paper Towns, Cara was called “grump” by news anchors on Good Day Sacramento as she gave short, blunt answers throughout the interview and used a fair share of sarcasm.
In an interview with Style magazine, Richard Madden said Cara’s behavior was “unprofessional,” adding “it made her seem ungrateful. She showed her age. For Cinderella, I did six weeks of those interviews, where you get asked the same eight questions.”
The former Game of Thrones star advised Cara, “If you’re not capable of doing it gracefully, then don’t do it.”
However, Cara does not seem like one to take Richard’s advice, as following the Good Day interview Cara slammed critics and defended her sarcastic comments, saying they made her more “human.”
She went on to tweet, “I am soooooooo lucky and anyone who thinks I am unappreciative and ungrateful clearly doesn’t know me. I work really really hard and love what I do, I don’t feel like I need to apologize for being human #sorrynotsorry.”
